Hello boys & girls! Im back with yet another update! This time, its all about Amusement Parks.
No, i haven't been slacking off and riding rides at Disneyland (though we all know that its a blast when i do get time to do that). NOPE! What i'm talking about is the fact that since October 2013, aside from a few side gigs here and there, i have been the Supervising Previs Artist on many an Amusement Park ride to be built in China. Basically, Myself and a small team of highly skilled individuals have been helping to visualize the look & feel of these rides.
To date... I have worked on about 5 or 6 distinctly different rides (my mind is a a bit muddied, so im not sure if its 5 or 6). And I can tell you that it takes a whole new set of skill sets to work on rides vs movies. Sure, there are some similarities. We use the same tools for both. However, ride design is much more technical. You must pay attention to actual heights and lengths and what not... vs film where you can occasionally use "magical cheats" to achieve the shots you need.
I hope to be able to share with you guys what i have been working on sometime. It has really expanded me as an artist, and that is always a good thing! I even learned an entirely new program!
Anyway, i cant say much more than that at the moment.
In my personal world... The wife and I just moved into a nice 2 bedroom Apt and we are growing a small pot(ed) garden. (My mother calls it a pot garden. But really its just a a garden we grow out of pots) We also just "celebrated" our 4 year anniversary. So that is exciting! And we found time to do our first art fair for her Custom Toy Monster company OffTheMap: Monsters! All in all we have been really blessed as of late!
Heres to hoping the rest of 2014 and 2015 are as great! And We wish you all the best as well!
Keep Pushing Forward and Rockin it!
I leave you with pictures...
